Create Perfect Website, Content is King

There are hundreds of books written on how to create a website. They guide you painstakingly through every step necessary to create the perfect website. A site that will display your business with picture perfect buttons and controls. The one thing that cannot be taught in these books is how to write compelling content for your site.

Many people take the written word for granted. They believe that to write engaging and interesting content is second to all the bells and whistles of the website. In reality, content is all that really matters on the web. Without good quality content the millions of web surfers
will never view your site and that is not good for your e-business. You must attract the attention of search engines and with those search engines come all those potential customers.

Finding the correct keywords is essential to creating content that will garner the attention of the search engines. Sites like wordtracker help website owners discover the keywords people are searching on the Internet.  It is essential that the correct keywords be found when deciding which words to include in your website content.

Sometimes it may seem that a certain keyword makes more sense to search, but if people are not searching that particular keyword then it is useless for search engine optimization. Search engines determine rank through a ranking algorithm. The public does not know those exact instructions, but where the keywords appear on a site and the frequency of their use is part of the code. A website that uses the keyword searched in their title or at the beginning of the website is considered to have the relevant information searched for and will rank high.

Search engines do not understand the meaning behind your content; they are only concerned with the keywords used in the context of the article.  They do not notice punctuation or how the keyword is used. That being said, it leaves a content writer with a lot of leeway to produce keyword dense articles that do not read like a keyword dense article.  Well written content must appeal to the reader as well as the search engine. The search engine will bring them in but it is the content that keeps them reading.
